CARGO WAGON IS THE GOLD SPONSOR OF SEE MOBILITY

In just a few days, the international transport fair SEE Mobility will take place in Belgrade. On this occasion, we interviewed Cargo Wagon’s commercial director, Patrícia Stuchlíková, responsible for wagon leasing and developing new customers.

Why did Cargo Wagon decide to present itself at the SEE Mobility fair?

Cargo Wagon was established eight years ago as a sale and leaseback project in cooperation between VTG and the Slovak national carrier ZSSK CARGO. We took over a fleet of 12,000 wagons, gradually performed the necessary maintenance on the wagons, scrapped unnecessary wagons, and plan to start investing in fleet renewal. We have now reached a stage where we are considering how to further develop Cargo Wagon. Among other things, we are looking for opportunities in new markets, and the countries of the Western Balkans represent a very promising and dynamically developing market for us.

Where specifically do you see business opportunities for Cargo Wagon in the Southeastern European market?

During the fair in Munich, we met with interested parties who informed us that projects for railway line renewal and corridor construction are starting in Serbia. Since our fleet includes wagons suitable for transporting stone as well as for transporting sleepers and switches, we would like to develop our discussion on cooperation at the SEE Mobility fair. Additionally, we see potential in the Serbian market for the transport of steel products, for which we can offer covered wagons and wagons for transporting steel coils.

Wagon Leasing

Patrícia is responsible for the leasing of railway wagons and customer satisfaction. She has worked in various positions in rail freight transport practically her entire professional life. She has a diverse portfolio of contacts that are a great asset in creating long-term business partnerships. She is fluent in Polish and English and is currently learning German and Dutch.

How do you plan to attract new clients in the Southeastern European region?

Thanks to our customers, our wagons have been operating throughout the Balkans for a long time, and now we want to expand our company’s presence in this region. Among our customers are companies that operate our wagons in Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia, and they regularly travel with them to Bulgaria and Romania. We would like to use the SEE Mobility fair to introduce ourselves to new customers and discuss specific projects and our cooperation possibilities on projects directly in Serbia.

In your presentation, you state that you have a fully digitized wagon fleet. What does that mean, and what benefits does it bring to your customers?

We provide our customers with access to data from GPS units installed in all our wagons. In practice, this means that they have access to location data, and mileage, can set alerts for specific geographical areas, and can also receive notifications about so-called shock reports. From practice, we can mention the example of a Polish company that regularly uses graphical displays of the last traveled route on a map. Another national carrier uses information about the location of wagons abroad to inform its customers in advance about the unloading schedule. Additionally, through the web platform, we can share technical data about rented wagons with customers and better plan the maintenance of rented wagons.
