CARGO WAGON FAIR TOUR

This spring, we had the opportunity to attend three fairs in three different countries. You can read about our impressions from these events in this article. In Munich, we first visited the Transport Logistic fair, in Belgrade, Serbia, we exhibited at SEE Mobility, and in early June, we went to Ostrava for Rail Business Days.

Fairs in Germany are a reference event in the railway sector, and we tend to visit them every year. Transport Logistic is always a great opportunity to meet old and new partners from across Europe. This year, we particularly enjoyed the demonstration event by Tatravagónka Poprad, where they presented the Sggmrss 92′ intermodal wagon and the innovative Laados truck transport wagon.

Cargo Wagon is gradually expanding its presence in new markets in the Western Balkans. Since we plan to expand our fleet with more renovated and new wagons in the coming years, we see great potential in this region. Specifically, we view Serbia as a dynamic, modern transport market located at an important junction of the transport corridors of Southeast Europe.

At the SEE Mobility fair, we presented our current offer of Shimmns wagons for the steel industry and Faccs wagons for track construction and gravel transport. Besides seeking new customers, we also aim to find suitable partners for wagon maintenance in this region.

The event brought together interesting transport companies from across the former Yugoslavia and surrounding areas. The main topic of the panel discussion at the fair was the modal shift. With EU support, the countries of the Western Balkans are significantly investing in building modern railway infrastructure, so we believe that the future development of freight rail transport is a great opportunity for companies like ours.

In early June, we visited our western neighbors and attended Rail Business Days in Ostrava. This exhibition is primarily oriented towards the Czech and Polish markets. The main topic of the conference was high-speed rail lines, whose construction is being intensively prepared in Poland and the Czech Republic. The fair was held for the first time in the new premises of the Trojhalí Karolina complex in Ostrava. We give the location a “thumbs up” because, as our sales director Patricie Stuchlíková said, “We are neither rained on nor unpleasantly baked by the sun as in the past.”

We evaluate the spring part of our “tour” as successful and fruitful in terms of new contracts and long-term business opportunities. We are already preparing to visit the international railway fair Trako in Gdansk, Poland.
